Pascal frees the balloon, and the two become friends. The balloon follows Pascal around, and they are great pals. Eventually, other children become jealous. They hunt down Pascal and his balloon, capture the balloon, and eventually break it. Heartbroken, Pascal mourns the death of his friend. Just then, balloons all over Paris free themselves to join Pascal, and take him on an adventure around the world.
